Dawson Middle School Student Awarded Medal from the American Association for Development of the Gifted and Talented

Congratulations to Dawson Middle School and DCB student Alex Robertson! The American Association for Development of the Gifted and Talented (AADGT) recognized him with a silver medal for his outstanding performance of Mily Balakirev's Polka in F-sharp Minor. On June 14, Alex will have the opportunity to perform at the Passion of Music Recital Concert at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Alex has been playing piano since he was five years old. When asked about the award and honor, Alex responded, “I am proud and feel I accomplished something great because not many young musicians earn this award. I am nervous, but I cannot wait to play at Carnegie Hall.”

AADGT has worked since 1993 with extraordinarily talented young musicians from around the world. Their aim is to help talented aspiring artists to reach the pinnacle of their potential.  Learn more at http://www.aadgt.org/index.php/en/
